Md. Kamal Uddin, a senior businessman from Kulaura Municipality in Moulvibazar, has been loyal to one newspaper for five decades.
He owns a business called Panama Sound Service, located in the northern part of the city. Known for his deep passion for news, Kamal Uddin says his favorite newspaper has always been the Daily Ittefaq.
Around 75 years old, Kamal Uddin starts his day by opening his business and eagerly awaiting the newspaper delivery.
For the last 50 years, he has read only the Daily Ittefaq, finding no other publication as appealing or trustworthy.
When asked about his reading habits, Kamal Uddin explained that he meticulously goes through every section of the paper—covering topics like religion, politics, opinions, world news, entertainment, and industry and commerce.
On days when the paper is not published, he revisits previous editions to satisfy his appetite for news.
Kamal Uddin’s three sons are well-established—two of them are bankers, and one is an expatriate.
They shared that even during periods of illness, their father insists on hearing the Daily Ittefaq. No other newspaper, according to him, matches the credibility and quality of its reporting.
Expressing his admiration for the publication, Kamal Uddin remarked: "The Daily Ittefaq began its journey in December, the month of our victory. After 71 years, it has remained as popular as ever. I hope it continues to thrive in the years to come."
He believes the secret behind the newspaper's enduring success lies in its ability to evolve with the times while staying true to its roots.
