29th DITF kicks off

Update : 01 Jan 2025, 13:08

Chief Adviser to the Interim Government Professor Muhammad Yunus inaugurated the 29th Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF) on Wednesday morning.

The fair is being held for the fourth time at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Center in Purbachal. It is jointly organized by the Ministry of Commerce and the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB).

In addition to domestic organizations, 11 companies from seven foreign countries—India, Pakistan, Turkey, Singapore, Indonesia, Hong Kong, and Malaysia—are participating in this year’s event.

According to the EPB, this year’s trade fair will feature 362 stalls and pavilions, including contributions from 11 companies representing seven countries. Special areas, such as July Square, Chhatrish Square, and the Youth Pavilion, will honor the July-August uprisings. Additionally, an e-ticketing system will streamline the entry process.

For the first time, stall and pavilion spaces have been allocated online. To facilitate visitor transportation, dedicated BRTC bus services and discounted Uber rides will be available.

The July Square and Chhatrish Square commemorate the sacrifices made during student-led movements against discrimination. A Youth Pavilion has also been created to inspire young people to engage in export trade.

The fair will be open daily from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM, with extended hours until 10:00 PM on weekends.

The month-long fair aims to foster international trade relations, showcase innovations, and provide a platform for cultural and business exchange.
