The Daily Ittefaq, in collaboration with VOICE, hosted a knowledge-sharing meeting as part of the project "Collaborative Actions for Promoting Digital and Civic Space and Combating Gender Disinformation," implemented by VOICE.
The event was held on 31 December, 2024, at the Ittefaq conference room.
The project is sponsored by the European Union and supported by Article 19 and Free Press Unlimited.
The initiative aims to enhance digital and civic spaces in line with addressing the pervasive issue of gender disinformation through collective action.
Ahmed Swapan Mahmud, Executive Director of VOICE, Musharrat Mahera, Deputy Director of VOICE, among others were present at the event.
Mahera presented the kenote highlighting the project’s objectives, planned activities, desired outcomes, and implementation strategies.
Her presentation also outlined the specific roles and responsibilities assigned to each partner organization for the year-long initiative.
Journalists from The Daily Ittefaq shared their perspectives on challenges within digital and civic spaces and the growing issue of gender disinformation.
The meeting also focused on defining a clear roadmap for the project’s implementation.
The team also discussed the division of responsibilities, ensuring alignment and a shared vision for addressing challenges such as digital suppression, barriers to civic participation, and targeted gender disinformation towards building resilient digital and civic space.
