Bollywood actor and producer Farhan Akhtar has finally married his girlfriend Shaibani Dandekar on 19 February. According to Indian media, the couple kept their marriage very simple and swore to spend the rest of their lives together.
Farhan and Shibani wrote different oaths which they recited in the presence of all the guests. According to Indian media reports, the wedding has been held at the farmhouse of Javed Akhtar and Shabana Azmi in Khandala. Hrithik Roshan, Rakesh Roshan, Amrita Arora, Rhea Chakraborty, Anusha Dandekar attended the ceremony.
Earlier, it was informed that the couple will marry under the religion of Islam and both will also perform Hindu religious rites. Shibani Dandekar is a Hindu woman of Marathi descent while Farhan Akhtar is a Muslim. There were reports that Farhan Akhtar, 47, and Shibani Dandekar, 41 had submitted an application for legal registration of marriage in January last year.
Pictures of the couple’s wedding on Saturday have now surfaced. Both of them are looking very beautiful in their wedding photos. On this special occasion of marriage, Farhan Akhtar is wearing a black suit and he is also wearing black goggles. While Shibani Dandekar is looking very beautiful in a red dress. Both can be seen standing in front of the flower arch in the pictures that are going viral. Next to him, a man is reading something while speaking on the mic.
Earlier, photos and videos from Farhan and Shibani's pre-wedding festivities had gone viral on the internet. Farhan's stepmother Shabana Azmi and Shibani's sisters Anusha and Apeksha Dandekar and close friends Rhea Chakraborty, and Amrita Arora were seen with other guests at the 'Toofaan' actor's Mumbai home.
For the festivities, Shabana was seen decked in a mustard outfit, which she accessorised with gold jewellery. The veteran actor was also seen sporting light makeup, with her hair tied in a neat bun, adorned with pink and white coloured flowers. Shibani`s sister younger sister Anusha Dandekar looked resplendent in a yellow frilled saree, She kept her hair curly loose and accessorised them with a maangtika. Apeksha was also seen in a pastel blue dress adorned with pompom jewellery. A glimpse of the groom-to-be Farhan was also seen dressed in casuals.
Earlier this week, Farhan also shared a glimpse at his bachelor party. Taking to Instagram, he shared a picture with his friends including Ritesh Sidhwani and Shakeel Ladak. The snap also featured the cut-outs of Shibani and Farhan`s faces. "The boys are back in town. #stagdaynightfever," he captioned the post. Shibani also commented on the post that read, "Umm... technically I am there too."
It was Farhan’s second marriages and Dandekar’s first. His first wife was hair stylist Adhuna Bhabani in 2000, but due to unknown reasons, the couple ended their 17-year marriage in 2017. They also have two daughters.
