Dates for 2026 Biswa Ijtema announced

Update : 05 Feb 2025, 16:58

The Shura-e-Nizam or Zubair faction has announced the dates for the 59th Biswa Ijtema in 2026, which will be held in two phases with two separate final prayers (Akheri Munajat) in each phase.

The announcement was made on Wednesday, after the second Akheri Munajat of the second phase of the first session.

According to the announcement, the first phase of the 59th Biswa Ijtema in 2026 will be held from January 2 to 4, and the second phase will take place from January 9 to 11.

Shura-e-Nizam’s media coordinator, Habibullah Raihan, provided this information on Wednesday (February 5) afternoon.

Earlier, following a guidance sermon (Hedayeti Bayan) at the bank of the Turag River, the Shura-e-Nizam’s Biswa Ijtema ended with the final prayer seeking peace and prosperity.

The Akheri Munajat was led by Maulana Zubair, Amir of Tabligh in Bangladesh and elder of Shura-e-Nizam. The air along the Turag riverbank resounded with chants of “Ameen, Allahumma Ameen” as millions of devotees raised their hands in prayer, seeking Allah’s satisfaction. Many wept and pleaded for forgiveness from the Almighty while praying for world peace.

Eyewitnesses reported that the Ijtema ground was so packed that there was no space left to accommodate more worshippers. Those unable to find a spot inside the ground took positions on nearby streets and rooftops. The presence of hundreds of thousands of devotees transformed the industrial town of Tongi into a city of faith.
