Met Office predicts temperature drop starting Friday

From Friday the intensity of the cold may increase in various regions of the country. According to the weather forecast from the Meteorological Department, temperatures could drop by up to 2°C.

This information was provided in the forecast signed by meteorologist Md. Shahinul Islam on the night of Wednesday .

The forecast states that the extended part of the subcontinental high-pressure system is currently located over Bihar and surrounding areas, while a normal low-pressure system is present over the southern Bay of Bengal.

On Wednesday, the lowest temperature in the country was recorded in Tentulia, Panchagarh, at 11.2°C. In the capital Dhaka, the minimum temperature that day was 17.7°C.

According to the forecast for the next 72 hours, the weather across the country may remain dry, with moderate to dense fog possible in various areas from late night to morning.

  • In the first 24 hours, the temperature may rise slightly during both day and night.
  • In the next 24 hours, the temperature may decrease by up to 2°C during both night and day.
  • In the final 24 hours, the night temperature may drop by another 2°C, while the daytime temperature may slightly decrease.

However, the extended five-day forecast from the Meteorological Department indicates that after this, the night and day temperatures may rise again.
