India beat Sri Lanka by 7 wickets

India beat Sri Lanka by seven wickets in the second T20I, to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series. Put in to bat first, impressive knocks from Pathum Nissanka (75) and Dasun Shanaka (47* ) propelled Sri Lanka to 183-5 in 20 overs. 

Sri Lanka gave India a target of 184 runs. In reply, India achieved the target in 17.1 overs for the loss of 3 wickets. Shreyas Iyer and Ravindra Jadeja played stormy innings for India. Iyer scored an unbeaten 74 off 44 balls. His innings included 4 sixes and 6 fours. While Jadeja scored an unbeaten 45 off 18 balls. Jadeja hit 7 fours and a six.

Captain Rohit Sharma was dismissed after scoring just one run. At the same time, opener Ishan Kishan could also score only 16 runs. After this there was a good partnership between Shreyas Iyer and Sanju Samson. Both these players took the Indian team’s score beyond 100 runs. After this Sanju got out. He scored 39 runs off 25 balls. Samson’s innings included 3 sixes and 2 fours.

Opener player Pathum Nisanka played a strong innings for the Sri Lankan team, who came out to bat after losing the toss. He scored 75 runs off 53 balls. Nisanka’s innings included 11 fours. At the same time, Captain Shanka played a stormy innings. He remained unbeaten on 47 runs in 19 balls. Opener Gunathilaka contributed well. He scored 38 runs off 29 balls. Apart from this, no player could do anything special.

Jasprit Bumrah and Yuzvendra Chahal bowled well for Team India. Bumrah took one wicket for 24 runs in 4 overs. At the same time, Chahal took one wicket for 27 runs in 4 overs. Along with them Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ravindra Jadeja and Harshal Patel also got one wicket each.

Lahiru Kumara (2/31) was the most successful bowler for Sri Lanka.
