NCP leaders pay tribute at National Martyrs Mausoleum

Update : 04 Mar 2025, 12:11

Leaders of the newly formed political party, National Citizen Party (NCP), on Tuesday paid rich tributes to martyrs through placing wreaths at the National Mausoleum in Savar.

Party Convenor and Member Secretary Nahid Islam and Aktar Hossain led the party to pay homage. They also observed a one-minute silence at the mausoleum, UNB reports.

Talking to the media, Nahid, a former adviser to the interim government, said, “We will build a new Bangladesh in the spirit of all struggles including the 2024 mass uprising. Though we obtained an independent country through the liberation war, our sovereignty faced threats due to fascism.”

Emphasising the need for building a new republic, he said the country’s democratic institutions collapsed again and again. “So, a democratic constitution will have to be built.”

Convner Nahid hoped that the youth themselves will form the state when the organisational activities of their party will be expanded.

Urging all to be aware, he demanded that the judgment of the July uprising be prosecuted soon and said goodbye to fascism.

Later, they also paid homage to the July martyrs at Rayer Bazar in Dhaka.

A large number of the party leaders and activists flocked to the venue to pay homage to the martyrs.
