'Not a walk, just a warm-up,' said West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee as she jogged through London's Hyde Park.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was seen jogging through the iconic Hyde Park, dressed in her signature white saree during her recent London visit, according to Times Now.
Trinamool Congress’ (TMC) Kunal Ghosh shared a series of pictures and videos capturing Banerjee as she strolled from the park to Buckingham Palace.
For her morning jog, the Chief Minister opted for a white saree with a green border and layered her outfit with a black cardigan and a cozy shawl to combat the chilly London weather.
"London. Morning. The Chief Minister said, 'Not a walk, just a warm-up. Video of Hyde Park.' A little later, going to the High Commission," he captioned the video on social media platform X.
He also shared another video of her walking backward in the park, an exercise which helps strengthen muscles, and improves balance.
A little later, Chief Minister's morning walk or rather warm-up led her in front of Buckingham Palace.
Mamata Banerjee's London visit
The West Bengal Chief Minister was hosted by Shri Vikram K. Doraiswami at India House, London, for a high tea reception.
"As we navigate a changing world, meaningful partnerships driven by trust are more vital than ever. Today’s exchange reaffirmed the immense potential that lies ahead," Mamata Banerjee shared in a post on X.
She added that the gathering brought together a diverse spectrum of voices united in their commitment to strengthening Bengal-Britain ties.
"Bengal and Britain share a relationship that spans centuries, rooted in history, culture, and commerce. As we landed in London yesterday, we stepped into a city that, much like Kolkata, carries the weight of its past while embracing the dynamism of the present," she said.
"Before the day’s engagements commenced, I took a moment to immerse myself in the essence of London’s timeless grandeur. From its iconic landmarks to its storied streets, the city exudes an old-world charm that speaks of history and evolution – values that Bengal, too, holds close to its heart. With a packed itinerary ahead, I look forward to deepening Bengal’s engagement with Britain and reinforcing our enduring ties," Banerjee added.
