The sacred Eid-ul-Fitr prayer was held at Masjid al-Haram (Grand Mosque) in Makkah, Islam’s holiest site. The first congregation took place on Sunday, at 6:30 AM local time in Saudi Arabia.
The occasion is being observed with deep religious reverence and solemnity.
Sheikh Abdur Rahman As-Sudais led the Eid prayer at Masjid al-Haram, while in Madinah, the Eid prayer at Masjid an-Nabawi was led by Khatib Abdullah Bu’ayzan.
As in previous years, worshippers gathered inside and outside Masjid al-Haram even before the Fajr prayer to secure their spots for Eid prayers. Videos show millions of worshippers participating in the grand congregation.
A large number of people, including Saudi citizens, expatriates, and pilgrims visiting for Umrah, joined the prayers. After the prayer, a special supplication was made for the well-being of the entire Muslim community.
