On the very first day of the Bengali month of Boishakh, light rain brought relief from the scorching heat across many parts of the country. However, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department has forecast temporary gusty winds along with thunderstorms and hailstorms in some areas.
According to the forecast issued for the 24 hours from 6 PM on Monday (April 14), isolated places in the divisions of Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barisal, Chattogram, and Sylhet may experience temporary gusty winds accompanied by lightning, rain/thunderstorms, and possibly scattered hail.
Mild heatwaves are currently sweeping over regions including Sandwip, Sitakunda, Dhaka, Tangail, Narayanganj, Madaripur, Moulvibazar, Rangamati, Cumilla, Chandpur, Feni, Khulna, Bagerhat, and Patuakhali, and may subside in some areas. Day and night temperatures are expected to drop slightly across the country.
The forecasts for the evenings of Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday continue to indicate possibilities of similar weather, including thunderstorms, rain, gusty winds, and scattered hail in various parts of the country, with temperatures either dropping slightly or remaining steady.
