India may strike Pakistan within hours

Update : 30 Apr 2025, 10:12

Pakistan’s Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Attaullah Tarar, has expressed concern that India may take military action against Pakistan within the next 24 to 36 hours.

In a post on social media platform X early Wednesday, Tarar raised this concern. However, he did not provide any specific or concrete evidence. Indian media outlets have also not responded to the matter immediately.

According to Tarar, Pakistan has intelligence suggesting that India may launch an attack based on unfounded allegations.

Tarar issued a warning, stating that any aggression would be met with a firm response, and that India would bear responsibility for any grave consequences that arise in the subcontinent.

Earlier, Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif told international media that an Indian attack on Pakistan is imminent. Islamabad is on high alert under the current circumstances.

He stated that if there is a direct threat to Pakistan’s existence, Islamabad would not hesitate to use nuclear weapons.

On the other hand, strong signals have also come from India. On Tuesday evening, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a high-level meeting at his residence in New Delhi.

Present at the meeting were the chiefs of the three armed forces, Chief of Defence Staff Anil Chauhan, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval. In the meeting, Modi stated that the armed forces have been given full freedom to act. The military will decide when, where, and how to respond.

Indian news outlet NDTV reported that Modi expressed confidence in the professionalism and capabilities of the Indian armed forces during the meeting.

According to an NDTV source, the Prime Minister clearly stated that eradicating terrorism is a national commitment of India. He also gave the green light for military action against those involved in the gunmen’s attack in Pahalgam. After the meeting with military and security officials, Home Minister Amit Shah also visited Modi’s residence.

India continues to hold Pakistan responsible for the gunmen’s attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir. However, Pakistan has repeatedly denied these allegations.

Prime Minister Modi is set to meet again with the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) at 11:00 AM on Wednesday. He had earlier met with the CCS last Thursday, during which five important decisions were taken, including closing the border and revoking the Indus Waters Treaty.

After the security meeting, the Indian Prime Minister will hold talks with the Cabinet Committee on Political Affairs (CCPA), which includes senior ministers like Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah, Communications Minister Nitin Gadkari, Health Minister J.P. Nadda, and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.

Modi will also participate in a meeting of the Economic Affairs Committee afterward.
