The Pakistan Army is carrying out live-fire drills in view of the forces' war strategy featuring the view of modern weapons, said the security sources.
The aim of the war drills is to give a full and crushing response to any aggression by the enemy, sources added, according to the Geo News.
With officers and soldiers displaying professional skills in full force during the exercises, the Pakistan Army has reiterated its resolve and readiness to give a befitting reply to any aggression by the enemy.
The primary focus of the drill was to display combat strategies, the use of modern technology-driven weapons, and defensive tactics.
Sources close to the military stated, “The objective of this exercise is to send a clear message of the Pakistan Army’s full preparedness to respond to any aggression from the enemy, and to reaffirm its firm resolve to crush it if necessary.”
The timing and context of the exercise are particularly significant. Pakistan claims that it destroyed an Indian checkpoint in a retaliatory strike after Indian forces allegedly opened fire "without provocation" across the Line of Control (LoC) in the Kiani and Mandal sectors. Pakistani security officials stated that they neutralized several enemy bunkers, including the Chakpathra post in Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir.
Recently, a deadly terrorist attack in the Pahalgam area of Kashmir, which caused numerous casualties, has led India to unofficially blame Pakistan. Although Pakistan was not explicitly named, India has taken a series of strong retaliatory measures. These include cancelling visas for Pakistani citizens, expelling several diplomats, and even suspending the Indus Waters Treaty—one of the most significant bilateral agreements between the two nations.
In response, Pakistan has imposed reciprocal diplomatic restrictions, including limiting India’s access to its land and airspace. Amid this complex standoff, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi reportedly gave the country’s military "full freedom" to carry out any form of retaliatory action, as discussed in a high-level cabinet meeting on Tuesday.
This ongoing standoff between two nuclear-armed neighbors has sparked widespread concern across South Asia. Security analysts have issued warnings, emphasizing the urgent need for diplomatic dialogue and de-escalation efforts to control the situation.
