After receiving advanced medical treatment in London for four months, BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has returned to Bangladesh, arriving at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka.

On Tuesday (May 6) at 10:40 AM, the special air ambulance carrying the BNP leader landed at the airport.

Earlier, on Monday night at 9:35 PM Bangladesh time, the air ambulance departed from the runway of Heathrow Airport.

At a press conference, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir stated that Khaleda Zia had left Dhaka for London on January 7 for advanced medical treatment.

The following day, January 8, she was received at Heathrow Airport by her elder son Tarique Rahman and other family members. She was then directly admitted to The London Clinic. After 17 days of treatment, she moved to her son’s residence, where her medical care continued. Her physical condition has improved due to rest and treatment there.

Later, on Monday at 4:10 PM local time in London (9:10 PM Bangladesh time), Khaleda Zia departed from Heathrow Airport for Dhaka aboard a royal air ambulance provided by the Emir of Qatar.

She was accompanied on the journey by her two daughters-in-law, Dr. Zubaida and Sharmila Rahman, along with a medical team and members of her medical board—nine people in total.
