Pakistan unlocks airspace for all flights

Update : 10 May 2025, 20:46

After reaching a ceasefire amid ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan, the Pakistani government has fully reopened its airspace for all commercial and international flights.

In a statement, the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority announced that the airspace is now completely open, and all types of flights can resume operations.

Notably, on Friday night, under the initiative of President Trump, an emergency diplomatic meeting led to a mutual ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan. Following this agreement, both sides decided to halt all border shelling and airstrikes entirely.

In a statement, India's Ministry of Defense announced that both sides have agreed to avoid conflicts on land and in the air and have committed to continuing defense dialogues.

Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs also welcomed the agreement, stating that it would restore stability in the region and is a crucial step from a humanitarian perspective.

Analysts believe that the ceasefire and the decision to reopen the airspace have increased the prospects for peaceful diplomacy between the two countries.

International relations expert Dr. Ruhul Amin commented that if this ceasefire holds, it could pave the way for a new chapter in India-Pakistan relations in the long term.
