The deadly coronavirus has once again resurfaced in Bangladesh. After a long period with no major reports of infections, new cases have been confirmed in recent days through testing.
In the latest development, one person has died from COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. Additionally, out of 21 samples tested, three people were found to be infected with the virus.
These details were shared in the regular COVID-19 bulletin issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Thursday (June 5).
The deceased was a male between the ages of 81 and 90. With this, the total number of COVID-related deaths in the country has reached 29,500. So far, 2,051,739 people in Bangladesh have been infected with the virus.
According to the bulletin, between 8 AM on Wednesday (June 4) and 8 AM Thursday (June 5), 21 samples were tested, with a positivity rate of 14.29%. During this same period, three individuals recovered from the virus. To date, 2,019,360 people in the country have recovered from COVID-19.
