13 fresh COVID cases logged in a day

Thirteen people tested positive for coronavirus in Bangladesh in the last 24 hours. These 13 individuals were identified as positive after 101 samples were tested.

However, no one died from the infection in the past 24 hours.

With these new cases, the total number of confirmed patients has reached 2,051,760.

This information was released in a regular press release on coronavirus from the Directorate General of Health Services on Tuesday (June 10).

It's been reported that all the newly infected individuals in the last 24 hours are residents of the Dhaka metropolitan area. Previously, yesterday (June 9), 5 people tested positive for coronavirus out of 41 samples.

The press release also stated that two people recovered from coronavirus in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of recoveries to 2,019,378.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, the overall positivity rate has been 13.05%. The positivity rate for the last 24 hours is 12.87%.

The first 3 cases of coronavirus were identified in Bangladesh on March 8, 2020. Ten days later, on March 18 of the same year, the country recorded its first death due to the virus. On two days, August 5 and 10, 2021, the highest number of deaths due to coronavirus was recorded, with 264 fatalities on each day.
