40,500 Hajj pilgrims back home, 38 deaths

As of Friday (June 20), 40,520 pilgrims have returned to the country on return flights after performing the holy Hajj. Among them, 5,006 pilgrims returned through government arrangements, while 35,514 returned through private agencies. This information was confirmed in the Hajj bulletin.

Of the return flights, Biman Bangladesh Airlines transported 16,262 pilgrims. In addition, Saudi Airlines carried 16,933 pilgrims, and Flynas Airlines transported 7,325 pilgrims.

Altogether, 103 return flights have arrived as of Friday. Among them, 41 flights were operated by Biman Bangladesh Airlines, 43 by Saudi Airlines, and 19 by Flynas.

By Friday, a total of 38 deaths have been reported in Saudi Arabia during this year’s Hajj. Among the deceased were 27 men and 11 women.

It is worth mentioning that a total of 87,157 Bangladeshis performed Hajj this year. This year’s Hajj took place on June 5. Return Hajj flights will continue until July 10. The first flight carrying pilgrims to Saudi Arabia departed on April 29, and the last outbound flight left on May 31.
