Three people have died from coronavirus infection in the past 24 hours in the country. During this time, 19 people tested positive for Covid out of 406 samples tested.
This information was revealed in a Covid-related press statement sent by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Monday (June 23) afternoon.
According to the statement, with the 19 new cases, the total number of Covid patients in the country has reached 2,051,997. With three new deaths, the death toll has risen to 29,518.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, the overall detection rate stands at 13.05 percent. In the past 24 hours, the detection rate was 8.68 percent.
It may be noted that the first three cases of coronavirus in the country were identified on March 8, 2020. Ten days later, on March 18 of the same year, the first Covid-related death occurred in the country. The highest number of deaths in a single day—264—was reported on both August 5 and August 10, 2021.
