US Secretary of State Marco Rubio held a telephone conversation with Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus on Monday evening and both sides affirmed their ‘shared commitment’ to deepening economic ties between the two countries.
The US Secretary of State and Chief Adviser also affirmed their shared commitment to ‘enhancing security and stability’ throughout the Indo-Pacific region, UNB reports.
“The Secretary and Chief Adviser affirmed their shared commitment to deepening economic ties between the United States and Bangladesh and to enhancing security and stability throughout the Indo-Pacific region,” said Spokesperson at the US Department Tammy Bruce after the telephone conversation.
Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam said they held the telephone conversation at 7:30pm on Monday.
The 15-minute discussion was warm, cordial and constructive, reflecting excellent bilateral engagement between the two nations, Alam said.
