Due to the announcement of the national election date in February, the 2026 Amar Ekushey Book Fair will begin on December 17 of this year and continue until January 17, 2026.
This decision was taken on Thursday (September 18) at a meeting held at the Shahid Munir Chowdhury Auditorium of Bangla Academy regarding the schedule of Amar Ekushey Book Fair 2026.
The meeting was presided over by Md. Mofidul Rahman, Secretary of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs. Present at the meeting were Professor Mohammad Azam, Director General of Bangla Academy, along with the academy’s secretary, directors, and representatives of the Bangladesh Book Publishers and Sellers Association.
Considering the upcoming national parliamentary elections and the holy month of Ramadan, the dates for the Amar Ekushey Book Fair 2026 were fixed from December 17 of this year to January 17, 2026.
