Update : 11 Apr 2022, 12:31

The wedding buzz of Bollywood's celebrated couple Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt is in full swing. There are reports of the couple tying the knot on April 14, 2022, as fans are going gaga over it.  Alia has finally broken her silence and opened up about her wedding on social media.

On April 10, YouTuber BeYouNick took to his Instagram account and shared a video wherein he could be seen recreating a scene from Shahid Kapoor’s 2019 film Kabir Singh. In the video, he could be seen dressed in a white kurta pajama desperately running behind a car that had the banner ‘Alia weds Ranbir’ written on it. He also added a picture of him with Alia and replaced it with Ranbir’s photo. To make it even funnier, he added a sad song to the video. And, Alia could not help but react to the post. She wrote, “ded (laughing emoji)”. Did Alia just confirm her wedding with Ranbir, then?

In an interview with a Indian leading daily, Neetu Kapoor said, "I would like to celebrate it and say it out loud. But kids today are different. I don't know about the big day myself, as both are very private people. Kab kar lenge pata nahi. But hogi and I wish jaldi ho jaaye because I love them both." Asked her about Alia Bhatt and she said, "Alia is a lovely girl and I just adore her. She is a beautiful person, and they are made for each other. They are very similar."

According to a latest media report, the theme of Ranbir and Alia's wedding will be pastel and the duo will be opting for Sabyasachi and Manish Malhotra attires for the day. From the decor to the outfits, everything is said to have a pinch of pastel in it.

While the report claims only 80 to 100 people will be invited to the party, India Today’s source claims Ranbir’s exes Katrina Kaif and Deepika Padukone have got an invite for the reception.

“In fact, Katrina and Alia are even working together in Farhan Akhtar’s next directorial venture, Jee Le Zara, which is written by Zoya Akhtar and Reema Katgi. Alia even reached out to Katrina during her wedding and gave her best wishes. Similarly, Ranbir and Ranveer Singh are friendly and they both respect each other’s work. So it won’t come as a surprise if all these couples make a friendly appearance at the reception in Mumbai," the source claimed.

"After a small honeymoon, Ranbir will then jet off to Himachal Pradesh to shoot for the film Animal," say sources. It is also being said that Alia and Ranbir will be flying to South Africa for their honeymoon. A source close to the couple said, "Ranbir and Alia have decided to honeymoon in South Africa. After celebrating the New Year abroad, the couple has planned to take a safari in Africa again."

As per an HT City, a small baraat procession will leave for Ranbir-Alia’s wedding venue on April 14 in the afternoon. The nuptials will last till the evening. Ahead of the wedding, the Mehendi function will take place at Alia's home in Vasstu, Bandra and followed by the Haldi ceremony and the first half of April 14.  All the events are said to be strictly private with only family members and close friends in attendance.

The residence of Ranbir’s grandmother Krishna Raj Kapoor has decked up with lights. Videos from the house has been shared by a paparazzo on Instagram, hinting that the wedding festivities are officially kicking off.

“It’s an extremely low-key and intimate wedding. Only 45-50 people have been invited for the wedding ceremony which includes the couple’s family members and close friends like filmmakers Karan Johar and director Ayan Mukerji,” a reliable source confirmed to HT City.

Another report in Pinkvilla claims that Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor have decided to host the wedding reception at Taj Mahal Palace ‘mostly’ on April 17. Alia and Ranbir want to get back to work, but before that, they want to finish all their wedding festivities and so they have decided on this date, the report added.

On Sunday, Alia was spotted making her way to Karjat for a shoot.
