As the month of Kartik draws to a close, the winter chill has begun to spread across the country. In particular, temperatures in the northern regions are dropping rapidly, and fog has started to appear.
According to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department’s observation at 6 a.m. on Sunday, the lowest temperature in the country was recorded in Tetulia, Panchagarh, at 16.6°C, down from 17.1°C the previous day.
The weather forecast suggests that light fog may form in some areas of the northern and northeastern regions early in the morning. Nighttime temperatures may drop by another 1–2°C, while daytime temperatures are likely to fall slightly as well.
Meteorologist Hafizur Rahman stated that temperatures are gradually declining as the days grow shorter. Light winter weather was felt in most parts of the country this morning, with the northern areas experiencing more noticeable cold. In contrast, the Chattogram region remains relatively warm.
In the capital Dhaka, the temperature was 22.2°C this morning, with 72% humidity. Although there is no chance of rain, the sky will remain partly cloudy, and light north to northwesterly winds may blow at a speed of 6–10 km/h.
The Meteorological Department also reported that no rainfall was recorded in Dhaka in the past 24 hours. Today’s sunset will occur at 5:15 p.m., and sunrise tomorrow will be at 6:10 a.m.
