Advance train ticket sales for post-Eid-ul-Fitr return journeys began Friday (March 13), with tickets for March 23 available today.
As usual, advance tickets for intercity trains for seven days are being sold under special arrangements. For the convenience of passengers, Bangladesh Railway is selling 100% of the tickets online.
Ticket sales will begin online at 8:00 AM. At that time, tickets for seats on all intercity trains in the western region of the railway will be available. Meanwhile, from 2:00 PM, advance tickets for all intercity trains in the eastern region will start being sold.
These decisions were recently taken at a preparatory meeting on special train services for Eid-ul-Fitr, held at the Rail Bhaban in the capital.
According to the railway’s decision: tickets for March 24 will be sold on March 14; tickets for March 25 on March 15; tickets for March 26 on March 16; tickets for March 27 on March 17; tickets for March 28 on March 18; tickets for March 29 on March 19
It was also decided that tickets for March 20, 21, and 22 will be sold depending on the sighting of the moon.
At the request of passengers, 25% standing tickets for non-AC coaches can be collected from the originating station before departure.
For the Eid journey, each passenger can purchase advance tickets only once, and a maximum of four seats can be bought. No ticket refunds will be allowed.
