After a long gap of 16 years, the postponed Primary Scholarship Examination for 2025 is starting simultaneously across the country from today (Wednesday).
According to the published schedule, the exam begins on Wednesday (April 15) at 10:00 AM, and the first day’s Bangla exam will continue until 12:30 PM. This information has been confirmed by the Directorate of Primary Education.
Earlier, on March 5, the exam schedule was approved at a meeting of the National Steering Committee of the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education. Later, a detailed routine was published following the Directorate’s instructions.
According to the schedule, on April 16, the subject is English; on April 17, it’s Mathematics and on April 18, the exams are Bangladesh and Global Studies, and Science.
Each exam will start at 10:00 AM and will last for two and a half hours.
However, in the three hill districts—Rangamati, Khagrachhari, and Bandarban—the exams will be held on a different schedule.
In these districts, Mathematics will be held on April 17 (first exam), Bangladesh and Global Studies, and Science on April 18, Bangla on April 19, and English (final exam) will be held on April 20.
Meanwhile, authorities have stated that an additional 30 minutes will be provided for candidates with special needs.
Previously, the last full-fledged Primary Scholarship Examination in Bangladesh was held in 2008. From 2009, the “Primary Education Completion (PEC)” exam was introduced, leading to the discontinuation of this separate exam. Although it was held experimentally once in 2022, it remained suspended again in the following years.
