Update : 19 Apr 2026, 09:48

Dhaka residents have been suffering from intense heat for several days. The heat may continue today as well. Although the sky may remain partly cloudy, there is little chance of rain, so the weather is likely to stay mainly dry. The daytime temperature is also expected to remain almost unchanged.

This information was given in the weather forecast for Dhaka and nearby areas for the next six hours from 7:00 am, published by the Storm Warning Centre of the Bangladesh Meteorological Department on Sunday (19 April).

According to the forecast, the sky may remain partly cloudy until noon today, and the weather is likely to remain mainly dry during this time. Winds may blow from the south or southwest at a speed of 10 to 15 kilometers per hour. The daytime temperature may remain nearly unchanged.

The forecast further mentioned that at 6:00 am today, Dhaka’s temperature was 27.2 degrees Celsius and the humidity level was 81 percent. Yesterday’s maximum temperature was recorded at 35.5 degrees Celsius. Today’s minimum temperature may remain around 27.0 degrees Celsius.

Today’s sunset will be at 6:22 pm, and tomorrow’s sunrise will be at 5:33 am. Slight rainfall has been recorded in the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, in the overall national forecast published last night, it was stated that within 6:00 pm today, some places in Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions, and one or two places in Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna and Chattogram divisions may experience temporary gusty winds along with lightning and rain or thundershowers. In some areas, there is also a possibility of scattered hailstorms.

However, in other parts of the country, the weather may remain mainly dry with partly cloudy skies.

Regarding temperature, the forecast said that daytime temperatures in Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions may drop by 1 to 3 degrees Celsius, while elsewhere they may remain almost unchanged. Night temperatures in those divisions may fall slightly, while in other parts of the country night temperatures may remain unchanged.

On the other hand, in the forecast issued for the country’s inland river ports from 5:00 am to 1:00 pm today, it was said that temporary gusty or squally winds accompanied by rain or thunderstorms may sweep over the Sylhet region from the west or northwest at speeds of 45 to 60 kilometers per hour. Therefore, river ports in the affected areas have been advised to display warning signal number 1.
