Saudi Arabia has resumed accepting Umrah visa applications following the end of the Hajj season. The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah announced that visa issuance for the new Umrah season began on Sunday, May 31.
According to the ministry, Umrah pilgrims from various countries around the world are now permitted to enter Saudi Arabia from that date. Pilgrims can also obtain entry permits for Makkah and Umrah permits through the government's Nusuk app.
Through Nusuk, Saudi Arabia's unified digital platform, pilgrims can access Umrah-related permits, bookings, and other services. In recent years, Saudi Arabia has significantly expanded the use of digital technology in managing Umrah operations.
The ministry further stated that March 9 of next year (1 Shawwal 1448 AH) will be the final day for issuing Umrah visas for the season. Additionally, Umrah pilgrims will be allowed to enter Saudi Arabia until March 23.
As part of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 program, extensive initiatives have been undertaken to modernize Umrah and Hajj services. These include electronic permit systems, automated contract processing, QR code verification, and the expansion of transportation and accommodation infrastructure.
Authorities hope that during the new season, a greater number of Muslims will be able to perform Umrah through easier and more modern services.
