Bangladesh face Indonesia in Java today

Update : 01 Jun 2022, 11:37

Bangladesh and Indonesia national football teams will take on each other in an international friendly match today. It is a part of their preparation for the Asian Cup 2023 qualifiers in Malaysia from June 8 to 14.

The match will kick-off at 7:30 pm Bangladesh time at the Si Jalak Harupat Stadium in the city of Bandung in West Java, Indonesia.

Indonesia is ranked 29 places ahead of Bangladesh in the FIFA World Rankings.

Bangladesh and Indonesia played each other on six occasions earlier, where Indonesia enjoyed upper hand beating Bangladesh four times.

Addressing at a pre match pres conference on Tuesday Bangladesh team's skipper Jamal Bhuyan was found hopeful for the positive outcome from Wednesday's match.

The Bangladesh skipper admitted that Indonesia is a strong team but he thinks that his boys would be able to compete against the host team and put a good performance on the pitch.

Bangladesh beat Indonesia once by 2-1 goals in a return leg match of the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers in 1985.

The remaining match ended in 1-1 draw in the Quaid-E-Azam Trophy in 1985.
