Bangladesh star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has been re-appointed Test captain for the third time. After giving him the responsibility, the BCBO wanted an official press conference before the tour of the West Indies. But BCB could not convince Shakib. So there was no press conference and nothing was known about the goals, objectives and plans of this left-handed all-rounder in his new role.
Meanwhile, Shakib did not go to the Caribbean with his teammates. He left the country for the United States secretly last Sunday night. He will spend a few days with family there and join the team in Antigua.
According to BCB sources, he is scheduled to join the team on June 10.
Meanwhile, batting coach Jamie Siddons and fielding coach Shane McDermott flew to the West Indies on the same flight with Tamim Iqbal, Mehdi Hasan Miraj and Yasir Ali Rabbi last night. Team Operations Manager Nafis Iqbal and Physio Bayezidul Islam Khan left last Sunday night.
