PM releases fish fry into Brahmaputra River

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman today released fish fry into the Brahmaputra River at Pakundia in Kishoreganj as part of his daylong visit to the district.

The Prime Minister reached Pakundia by road at around 11:30am and released the fish fry at the Brahmaputra River near Mirzapur Chairman Bari Ghat.

After completing his programme in Pakundia, Tarique Rahman visited the Katiadi Carp Hatchery Complex.

Later in the afternoon, he is scheduled to formally inaugurate the National Fisheries Week-2026 and distribute the National Fisheries Awards at the field of Achimita George Institute.

The Prime Minister is also scheduled to take part in a tree plantation programme at Sholakia Ground and distribute Family Cards at Kishoreganj Stadium.

Earlier, the Prime Minister left his Gulshan residence in Dhaka at 9:15am for Kishoreganj.

Hundreds of party leaders and activists, children, adolescents and women stood along both sides of the road to greet Prime Minister Tarique Rahman as he travelled from Dhaka to Kishoreganj, said Prime Minister’s Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Ruman.

The Prime Minister responded to their greetings by waving his hands with a smile, he said.

Tarique Rahman will leave Kishoreganj for Dhaka in the evening after completing the programmes.
