In some places, the ears of paddy are swaying in the wind, while in other places, preparations are underway for the ears to emerge.
Farmers' worry about Aman due to the prolonged lack of rain has largely been removed by the recent rainfall.
The pressure of extra irrigation costs has decreased. Now farmers are taking care of their fields in the hope of a good yield.
Visiting the Aman fields in different areas of Charghat Upazila, it was seen that the necessary moisture had returned to the land due to a few days of rain.
The dried-up paddy plants have also regained new life after getting water. The vast fields are turning green.
Farmers say this rain at a crucial time for Aman paddy has brought a message of relief for them. As it rained on time, the need for irrigation has decreased. They hope that if the weather remains favorable, the Aman yield will be good this time.
Alim Uddin, a farmer from Bhatpara village in Nimpara Union of the upazila, said, "As there was no rain for a few days, the land was drying up. The paddy plants had also become somewhat weak. If we had to irrigate, it would have cost extra. Now that it has rained, the necessary water has come to the land. The paddy plants have also become fresh. I hope the yield will be good if the weather remains good like this."
Agriculture officials of Charghat Upazila say that it is important to have sufficient moisture in the field during the growth, flowering and grain formation stages of Aman paddy.
The recent rain has brought back moisture to the land, which is positive for paddy. However, farmers also need to ensure that excess water does not remain stagnant in the field for a long time.
Charghat Upazila Agriculture Officer, Agriculturist Al Mamun Hasan said, "It is important to have the necessary moisture in the field for the normal growth and good yield of Aman paddy. The recent rain has restored moisture in the field, which is beneficial for paddy."
He further said, "At this time, farmers need to regularly monitor their paddy fields. If diseases or pest attacks occur, they should quickly seek advice from the agriculture department. If proper care is taken at the right time, it will be possible to get the desired yield, I hope."
In Raninagar Upazila of Naogaon, known as the Barendra region, there is now a colorful abundance of green transplanted Aman paddy plants across vast fields in 8 unions.
In the current transplanted Aman season, farmers hope for a good yield of paddy. Although no major disease has appeared at the last moment, farmers are now spending their time in the Aman paddy fields.
The agriculture department thinks that there is a possibility of a good yield of transplanted Aman paddy as farmers have cultivated early paddy in a modern way with the advice of the local agriculture department and there is no natural disaster.
This year, although the target for transplanted Aman paddy cultivation was set at 19,070 hectares of land in 8 unions of the upazila, paddy has been planted in about 18,500 hectares at last.
As the weather has been favorable, there is a possibility of a good yield of paddy in the current season due to timely planting of seedlings, intensive care, uninterrupted power supply, timely irrigation, and no shortage of fertilizer.
Additional Agriculture Officer of the Upazila, Agriculturist Zahidul Islam said that, on behalf of the agriculture department, courtyard meetings are being held in villages to make farmers aware and advise them to plant seedlings at the right time, to implement intensive monitoring, apply fertilizer and pesticides, ensure no shortage of fertilizer, timely irrigation, uninterrupted electricity and use modern methods and to keep them free from diseases.
If the weather remains favorable, there is a possibility of a good yield of transplanted Aman paddy in Raninagar Upazila.
