Nine more people died of dengue and 1,902 new patients were hospitalised in the country in the 24 hours until 8:00am on Monday.
With the latest fatalities, the dengue death toll has risen to 271 in the country this year, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Among them, three died in Dhaka North City Corporation area, two died in Barishal division and one each in Chattogram, Khulna, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions, it said.
Of the total deaths recorded this year, 47.9 percent were men and 52.1 percent were women.
Since January 1 this year, a total of 88,360 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country. Of them, 82,335 have recovered.
According to the DGHS report, so far 74 people died in Dhaka South City Corporation while 52 in Khulna division, 33 in Dhaka North City Corporation, 25 in Chattogram division, 23 in Mymensingh division, 22 in Barishal division, 18 in Rajshahi division, 16 in Dhaka division, six in Rangpur and two in Sylhet division.
