A low-pressure system is likely to develop over the central Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas, bringing light to moderate rain or thundershowers across Bangladesh over the next five days from 9am Wednesday, according to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD).
“Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at a few places over Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions,” said a regular bulletin of Met office.
Day temperature may remain nearly unchanged and night temperature may fall slightly over the country.
Monsoon is less active over south and eastern part of Bangladesh and weak over North Bay.
Southwest monsoon has withdrawn from western part of Bangladesh and may withdraw elsewhere over the country during next 24 hours.
