The authority of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) and Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) have completed the removal of sacrificial animal wastes slaughtered on Eid day (10 July).
Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) has removed about 9541.58 metric tonnes of sacrificial animal waste. The waste transferred them to Matuail dumping ground in the last 38 hours. In ten regions of DNCC, 12.47 lakh animals were sacrificed on Eid day and about 9,000 metric tons of waste were removed.
The waste has been transferred through a total of 2,370 trips by city corporation dump trucks.
In addition, 100% percent sacrificial animal waste has been removed from 75 wards of the south city by 1:15am Sunday (10 July).
DNCC Mayor Md Atiqul Islam visited various spots of DNCC to check the waste removal activities.
"I would urge everyone to slaughter the animals neatly, in a healthy way while maintaining a clean environment. After that, the two city corporations will start the clean-up work from 2 pm to remove the waste," said DSCC Mayor Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh on Eid day.
DSCC is currently conducting cleaning activities to remove the animal waste on the second day of Eid-ul-Azha.
