The readymade garment (RMG) workers have returned to their workplaces in Savar, Ashulia, Gazipur and Narayanganj after several days of labour movement, with workers attending most factories across the industrial areas today.
Workers' attendance in most factories indicated a gradual return to normalcy in the country's readymade garment (RMG) industry.
Meanwhile, payment of October wages to garment workers began on November 5.
Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) President Mahmud Hasan Khan Babu expressed hope that most factories would complete the payment of wages today.
Inspector General of Industrial Police (Additional IGP) Md Israil Howlader told BSS today that the situation in the industrial zones had started returning to normal, with workers joining their respective workplaces in most factories.
He said the authorities of one or two factories in Ashulia had temporarily suspended operations following some problems, after which workers left the factory premises peacefully.
He added that no incidents of protests, clashes or road blockades were reported in the industrial zones today, and the overall situation remained normal.
