Britney Spears releases first new music since 2016

Update : 26 Aug 2022, 10:16

American singer Britney Spears is going to release her single album on Friday. It will be the first music released by the singer in six years.

Britney’s latest album, her ninth, Glory, was released on August 26, 2016. And since then, the times, which included a resounding emancipation from her guardianship, have been tumultuous, to say the least. Musical comeback is a move and Spears has teamed up with Elton John to help.

“Hold Me Closer” will be a new rendition of Elton’s beloved 1972 classic “Tiny Dancer”, and will mark Britney’s first new song since she was released from her conservatorship.

Elton and Britney team up for a secret recording session in July.

“It’s pretty darn cool that I’m singing with one of the most classic men of our time,” Britney said ahead of the release.

“I’m kind of overwhelmed … it’s a big deal to me!”

The song features three of Sir Elton’s classic hits-Tiny Dancer, The One and Don’t Go Breaking My Heart – over a summer-fresh club beat.

The Grammy Award-winning singer admitted that she was nervous about returning to the music world this week.
