The police had summoned the Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh for his version in the case after an NGO and a woman activist Vedika Chaube lodged a complaint of obscenity after the nude photos were published in a foreign magazine.
As there was an enormous uproar after the actor shared the photographs on social media, the NGO and Chaube lodged the grievance with the Chembur Police which filed the FIR final month.
He was grilled by a staff of Mumbai Police for over two hours this morning and allowed to depart.
The police are tight-lipped on the main points of the assertion recording session and whether or not he was quizzed alone or within the presence of his aides or legal professionals.
The actor appeared before the investigating officer around 7 am on Monday and his statement was recorded, the official said. Ranveer left the police station around 9.30 am, the official said adding that the actor will be called again, if required.
