Update : 20 Oct 2022, 12:03

Bollywood actress Nora Fatehi was invited to dance and distribute awards at an event in Bangladesh. Now as per reports, the Bangladesh government has denied the permission.

According to a notice issued by the Bangladesh ministry of cultural affairs on Monday, she wasn’t granted permission “in view of the global situation and with the aim of maintaining the foreign exchange reserves.” Nora Fatehi was supposed to dance at the event and hand out awards organized by the Women Leadership Corporation.

In the event of the ever dwindling foreign reserves, which slipped to $ 36.33 billion as of October 12, enough to recover roughly four months of imports from $ 46.13 billion a year earlier, the ministry alluded to the central bank’s stipulations on dollar payments.

The ministry referred to central bank restrictions on dollar payments amid dwindling foreign exchange reserves, which fell to $36.33 billion on October 12 – enough to spread over about four months of imports – from $46.13 billion a year earlier.

Nora who comes from a Moroccan-Canadian family, made her debut in Hindi films in 2014.
