England have secured a win against Afghanistan by five wickets in the 14th match of group one in Perth on Saturday.
England finished the match with 11 balls remaining. England bowlers showed an extraordinary performance and restricted Afghanistan in 112 all-out. England batters proved it again that slow but steady wins the race.
England left arm fast bowler Sam Curran bagged five wickets spending just 10 runs in 3.4 overs. England batter Liam Livingstone scored 29 not out of 21 balls. Sam Curran became the Player of the Match.
After the match, Curran said, "We saw the way the Afghanistan team made it quite tricky towards the end. They have world-class spinners... You've seen in the qualifying groups, with the West Indies missing out that any teams can... Hopefully we can keep playing with confidence and keep winning."
From Afghanistan side, Ibrahim Zadran scored 32 of 32 balls and Usman Ghani knocked 30 with a strike rate of 100.
