India made an easy win of 56-run against Netherlands in the 23rd match of Group 2 of the T20 World Cup in Sydney on Thursday (October 27).
India batted first and scored 179 for 2 in 20 overs. Fifties from Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav laid the platform for India to brush Netherlands aside and move to the top of the Group 2 table.
However, the Netherlands struggled from the very beginning chasing the runs. They somehow managed to score 123 for 9 in 20 overs.
Suryakumar Yadav became the Player of the Match as he scored 51 not out of just 25 balls.
After winning the match, India captain Rohit Sharma said: "When you're expected to win, the pressure is a lot more. This was a near-perfect game for us. Won't say we were in a spot of bother at the start, wicket was on the slower side and we couldn't play our shots right at the start. With the ball, we were clinical."
