16 prominent bands set to rock music lovers on December 2

The biggest concert of the year titled ‘BAMBA-Channel i Band Music Fest 2022’ will be held at Army Stadium in Dhaka on December 2.

The event will be jointly organised by Bangladesh Musical Bands Association and Channel-i and powered by Gaan Bangla TV.

Sixteen popular bands, namely Warfaze, Miles, Nagar Baul, Souls, Renaissance, Feedback, Maqsood O’ Dhaka, Obscure, Dalchhut, Shironamhin, Artcell, Aurthohin, Viking, Cryptic Fate, Pentagon and Powersurge will come together for paying tribute to Ayub Bachchu. He was the key person and one of the organizers of the ‘Band Fest’. 

To provide further details about the mega event, a press conference was held yesterday on the Channel i premises, which was attended by Channel i managing director Faridur Reza Sagar, Channel i director and head of news Shykh Seraj, BMBA president Hamim Ahmed and others. 

“From now on every year on December 1, ‘Band Music Day’ will be celebrated across the country and ‘Bamba-Channel i Band Music Concert’ will be held on the first Friday of December. This year the concert will be held in Dhaka on December 2 (Friday) at the Army Stadium,” said Izaz Khan Swapan, programme director of Music Fest.

The inaugural ceremony of ‘Band Music Day’ will be held on December 1 on the premises of Channel i. State Minister for Culture Affairs KM Khalid will be present as chief guest, while Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque will be present as special guest. Members of the 52 bands listed on Bamba will also be present at the opening ceremony. Late band stars including Azam Khan, Ayub Bachchu, and Lucky Akhand will be remembered through this event.

According to noted singer Hamin Ahmed, “BAMBA for the first time is going to organise the biggest concert of the year in association with Channel i, embodying the dream of our band music legend Ayub Bachchu. Hope everyone will support such an initiative.”
