Rubel wins silver for Bangladesh

Mohammad Hakim Ahmed Rubel won silver in the recurve men’s singles event of Asia Cup World ranking tournament stage-3 that concluded on December 25 at in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates.
Rubel lost the keenly contested final to his Kazakhstan rival Abdullin Ilfat by 4-6 set and had to content with the silver medal, reports BSS.
In the gold-deciding mach, Rubel lost the first set by 0-2 points, but staged a brilliant fight back to win the second set by 2-0 points. Rubel however lost the third set by 0-2 points and the remaining two sets ended in a 1-1 points draw.
In the recuve men’s team event, Bangladesh team featuring Rubel, Sagor Islam and Mishad Prodhan lost to Kazakhstan by 2-6 set in the bronze-deciding match.   
In the recuve mixed team event, Bangladesh team comprising Rubel and Famida Sultana Nesho lost to their Uzbekistan rival by 3-5 sets in the bronze-deciding match.

The Bangladesh archery team expected to return home on December 26.
