Michelle Yeoh, Steven Spielberg win in Golden Globes 2023

The 80th Golden Globes was held on Wednesday at Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California. Hollywood stars from the big and small screens flocked back to the venue on Tuesday evening for the occasion.

In 2022, the Golden Globes event was held in private and the winners were announced via press release. 

The annual ceremony is hosted by US comedian Jerrod Carmichael.

Direcor Steven Spielberg and his semi-autobiographical feature “The Fabelmans” won two awards for best film drama and best director. Colin Farrell bagged the Best Actor Award for “The Banshees of Inisherin”. Meanwhile, Michelle Yeoh took away the Best Actress award.

Angella Bassett who took home the Best Supporting Actress award in a film for “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” and a pair of Asian actors winning for “Everything Everywhere All at Once” – Michelle Yeoh for actress in musical/comedy and an emotional Ke Huy Quan for supporting actor.

Brendan Gleeson is nominated for the Golden Globe for best supporting actor in a motion picture for his performance in Martin McDonagh's film.

Austin Butler was a winner for his performance as Elvis Presley in “Elvis” for actor in a film drama.

Aussie actress Cate Blanchett has scored a Golden Globe for her role in Tár.

HBO's Game of Thrones prequel House of the Dragon wins Best TV Series Drama.

Abbott Elementary wins Best Musical/Comedy Series. Zendaya took home the award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series, Drama for Euphoria.

The White Lotus won Best Limited/Anthology Series or TV Film with an acting award for fan favourite Jennifer Coolidge.

The Indian film which is directed by S.S. Rajamouli won its first award for "RRR" song Naatu Naatu. The song has been composed by M. M. Keeravani and the lyrics are written by Chandrabose and is sung by Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava.
