Shah Rukh Khan tops TIME 100 Reader Poll

Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan has emerged as the winner of Time magazine’s 2023 TIME 100 poll, in which readers voted for the individuals they felt deserved a spot on Time's annual list of the most influential people. He scored more votes than Lionel Messi and others.

Publication revealed that over 1.2 million votes were casted out of which four percent belonged to Khan. There were many popular names in the list from different fields. The list also featured noteworthy figures like actor Michelle Yeoh, athlete Serena Williams, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, amongst others. 

King Khan surpassed each and every one of these notable personalities and emerged as number one. As per the report by the magazine, SRK won 4% of the vote after more than 1.2 million votes were cast.

On the TIME100 Reader Poll list, second position went to Iranian women protesting for freedom. It was followed by health care workers, who came in third with a total of 2% of the vote from the readers. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle earned about 1.9% of the vote and ranked 4th. Football legend Lionel Messi was on the 5th spot on the list. 

On the work front, Shah Rukh Khan will be seen in Atlee's Jawan with Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi. He will also star in Rajkumar Hirani's Dunki, co-starring Taapsee Pannu, which is also slated to release this year.
