The first ODI match between Bangladesh and Ireland was abandoned due to constant rain at Chelmsford stadium on Tuesday.
Ireland scored 65 for 3 in the 17th over, chasing Bangladesh's 246 for 9, when play was stopped at 4:34pm local time.
The match was called off at 7pm local time when the ground was deemed too wet to be fixed up for even a 20-over game.
Ireland's bowlers managed to restrict Bangladesh within 246 for 9. Josh Little took 3 for 61.
Bangladesh batter Mushfiqur Rahim celebrated his birthday with a decent half-century and helped his team to post a target of 247 for Ireland.
The match ended with no benefit for any of the team due to the rain.
