Foods that improves memory

Are you forgetting things easily? It might be a simple task, or you are finding it hard to concentrate on your work or what anybody is saying. These are the signs that indicate the weakness of your memory. Don’t worry, you are not the only one facing these issues. People nowadays start relying on mobile alarms/reminders, or notes.

Brain is the powerhouse of your body, and to keep this powerhouse working properly, you need to fuel it properly. That fuel comes from food. The food items you eat plays an important  role in keeping your brain healthy and can improve specific mental tasks, such as memory and concentration. Let's have a look at those memory improving fuels for our brain:

 

Dark chocolate helps to keep your brain healthy

  • Hot dark chocolates have got a great impact on improving your memory. Many people eat chocolate for better skin. It also helps to keep your brain healthy as it contains brain boosting compounds, including caffeine and antioxidants.The flavonoids found in chocolate may help to protect the brain. Studies have suggested that eating chocolate, especially dark chocolate, could boost your memory and mood.

 

Pumpkin Seeds are a great source of Protein and Fiber

 

  • Pumpkin seeds are a great source of proteins, magnesium, zinc, copper, iron and fibres. These micro nutrients  are crucial for your brain function.  Pumpkin seeds also contain powerful antioxidants that help to protect your brain and body from any sort of radical damage. It can be eaten only with salt or you can also mix it up with oats.

 

Coffee helps to boost up your memory

 

  • There are people who cannot function without coffee in the morning, are you one of them as well? You will be glad to know it is good for you. The two main components in coffee that keeps you going are- antioxidants and caffeine which can provide support to your brain health. Coffee can also help in boosting alertness and mood, along with reducing risk of neurological diseases, such as Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s. But do remember, too much caffeine can be harmful for you.

The nutritious goodness in nuts, such as healthy fats, antioxidants, and vitamin E, may explain their beneficial effects on  your brain health. A 2014 study found that women who ate nuts regularly for several years had a sharper memory compared with those who did not eat nuts. Even Though all nuts are good for your brain, walnuts have got it’s own edge in boosting up your brain since they are enriched in .anti inflammatory and omega-3 fatty acids.

 

 

  • Oranges are a great source of Vitamin- C but did you know it can improve your memory as well? According to one study, having higher levels of vitamin C in the blood was associated with improvements in tasks involving focus, memory, attention, and decision speed . Vitamin- C also contains a generous amount of antioxidants which can help in defending your brain against the damage from free radicals.

 

There are many other foods that can help you to boost up your memory, including all these foods mentioned above. You can help support your brain health and boost your alertness, memory, and mood by drastically including these foods in your diet.
