Opener Tamim Iqbal and Liton Das, who was appointed as captain in absence of injured Shakib Al Hasan Hasan returned to practice ahead of the one-off Test against Afghanistan, beginning from June 14.
Both of them were not part of the practice session in the last two days. Liton was suffering from fever while Tamim Iqbal complained about his old back pain that returned to create further discomfort.
Liton looked quite okay in his movement and batting in the ground even though he had also back pain along with fever but Tamim still appeared to be in problem.
The senior opener though batted in the net, never looked in his comfort zone, which further raised a question whether he can play the Test against the Afghans.
"Liton has undergone an MRI which revealed nothing. He looked quite okay," BCB chief physician Dr. Debashis Chowdhury told the reporters here on June 11.
But Tamim has been kept in observation, he revealed.
"He is in practice but he has been in the observation. The trainer, physio are observing his condition."
Tamim on June 11 batted under the guidance of assistant coach Nic Pothas but when he tried to play back foot shot, he looked to be in pain. He looked to clutch his waist for several times while batting, indicating he is not 100 percent fit, just 72 hours ahead of the Test.
Meanwhile, Afghanistan cricket team which reached Dhaka yesterday started their practice session tomorrow. The visitors spent three hours in practice at the National Cricket Academy Ground.
