Prabhas and Kriti Sanon-starrer 'Adipurush' has received more backlash after its release in theatres on June 16 than it did when the trailer dropped on the internet. Even as Adipurush continues to be marred by numerous controversies, the film's lead actress Kriti Sanon is concentrating on the positives.
On Monday, Kriti took to Instagram and shared videos of the audience cheering for the movie. In one of the clips, moviegoers can be heard singing 'Ram Siya Ram'. "Focusing on the cheers and claps! Jai Siya Ram," she captioned the post.
Soon after she shared the video, her well-wishers started supporting her. "Kriti, you did an amazing job. Please don't believe the reviews," a social media user commented. Even her younger sister ‘Nupur Sanon’ was seen cheering for her. She wrote, “Proud of you” while Manish Malhotra dropped red heart emojis. A fan wrote, “Don’t believe anyone’s words, once go to the theater and see it, then you will feel that such a movie has not been made to date.” Another fan wrote, “Respect button for Siya-Ram>>.”
People have complained about the film’s dialogues and called it 'cheap'. Even the poor VFX and character portrayal was questioned as many found it too modernized. Some have said that there was no need to make all these changes.
The audience was not happy with Prabhas and Saif’s performances, they were amazed to see Kriti’s performance and appreciated her. She has performed the character of Janaki in a way that has left many extremely impressed.
Despite negative reviews and a call for boycott, the film is earning exceptionally well at the box office. Adipurush grossed over Rs 340 crore worldwide within three days.
