Update : 26 Dec 2021, 18:37

The 115-foot-high, 8-foot-long floating swimming pool was inaugurated at great expense. This swimming pool is about to close.

This swimming pool has been a major tourist attraction since its opening. It is built in an apartment complex in south-west London. The sky bridge is made of 6-inch-thick glass which joins the roofs of the two buildings.

The swimming pool is 115 feet above the ground. It covers a distance of 48 feet and joins the roofs of the two buildings. The world's first floating pool is 90 feet long and 19 feet wide. The 10 inch deep pool is made of 6 inch thick glass. The stairs go down from the roof of the building to the swimming pool. This transparent swimming pool is filled with 148,000 liters of water. A swimmer used to have the feeling of floating in the air while looking down while swimming. But now the authorities want to stop it.

According to them, a huge amount of electricity is being consumed to keep the pool water hot. 1 crore 51 lac rupees have to be paid annually. Which is not possible for them. So they have to decide to close this pool.

The state-of-the-art pool was built by ‘‘Arup Associates’’. The architectural firm also constructed Sydney's famous 'Opera House'.
