Update : 18 Nov 2023, 20:40

From November 8, 2023, a four daylong session on software training has been organized for students of the department of civil engineering, Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology.

ACES-Ruet (Alliance of Civil Engineering Students-Ruet) has taken the initiative to organize this session. Through this, the students were able to learn the various features of AutoCAD, which are expected to be useful in their practical life and workplace later on. A festive atmosphere was observed among the students around the session. They were eager to participate in the seminar at the end of the whole day in class.

About organizing the session, a student said, "From this session today, we learned many basics of AutoCAD. If more sessions like this are organized by the departmental club, it will help us to overcome our fear of software."

In the context, the head of department of civil engineering, Dr. Md. Mahmud Sazzad said, "We are now living in the technical world. In such a fast-paced technological era, Civil engineers must have IT skills and should adapt to new technology and software tools. They need to generate precise 3D models of structures using programs like AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Sketch Up, Revit, etc., and analyze the structures using CSI ETABS, CSI SAAP, STAAD Pro, etc."

He added, "I am happy that ACES is offering training in the essential software tools for free along with the Department of Civil Engineering. I appreciate the initiatives of ACES. The success of ACES will gleam as the light of optimism and inspire numbers you cannot count. I wish you the best in your feature endeavors."
